Abram named Canadian Baseball League Pitcher of the Week

WELLAND, ONTARIO – The Welland Jackfish are proud to announce that right-handed pitcher Ben Abram has been named the Canadian Baseball League Pitcher of the Week.

Abram earned the honour following a dominant performance against the Guelph Royals on Tuesday night. The hard-throwing right-hander struck out eight batters while allowing no runs, leading the Jackfish to victory and collecting his second win of the 2026 season.

The outing continued an impressive start to the campaign for Abram, who has been a key contributor to the Jackfish pitching staff through the opening weeks of the season.

"Ben has been outstanding for us every time he's taken the ball," said Jackfish Manager Brian Essery. "He attacked the strike zone, kept hitters off balance, and gave us exactly the type of performance we needed. This recognition is well deserved."

Abram's Pitcher of the Week selection marks another milestone for a Jackfish club that continues to build momentum early in the Canadian Baseball League season.

The Welland Jackfish return to action this week as they continue their pursuit of another championship season.
