Asbury-Heath does it all in Jackfish win
LONDON – DeAndre Asbury-Heath picked up four hits and drove in a run while scoring twice and stealing a base to lead the Welland Jackfish to an 8-6 win over the London Majors Sunday afternoon at Labatt Park.
Wilson Soriano went 2-for-5 with an RBI, Kenny Hahnfeld, Grant Okawa and Nate Mastervick all drove in a run, and Mattingly Romanin and Brendon Dadson each scored twice.
Casey Bouillere-Howard picked up the win, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings with two walks and three strikeouts in relief of Matthew Clingersmith, who scattered five hits over 5.1 inning with two runs, a walk and three strikeouts.
Chris Boatto recorded the last out for his first save of the season.
Ismael Pena (1-3) took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits in an inning. Ayden Hannon started and went 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Offensively, Pena went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and three RBI. Luis Sayol drove in a run, Byron Reichstein had two hits, two RBI and two runs, and Evan Bitt had two hits.
London dropped to 2-5, and Welland moved to 3-1.
