James Bradwell took a no-hitter into the seventh inning as the Welland Jackfish hammered the Barrie Baycats 13-1 to cut Barrie's best-of-seven IBL final series lead to 2-1.

Bradwell struck out 10 Baycats in total while allowing just one hit over seven innings.

"Again, Bradwell was a stud. We needed that performance and he delivered," explained Welland Manager Brian Essery who mixed up the Jackfish batting order after dropping the first two games.

Sam Cawker was inserted into the lineup and delivered in a big-time way. The catcher went three-for-four with four RBI including a first-inning three-run homer.

Steven Moretto, hitting out of the two-spot, and Carlos Martinez - inserted for Cawker late - also went deep.

"Ya, we shifted it around a little and fortunately it paid off," Essery said.

"Sam was excellent tonight. He was focused and dialed in. We're all so happy for him."

Welland now visits Barrie Wednesday night, with game 5 back in the Rose City Thursday evening.

Tickets are on sale now at wellandjackfish.com, by calling 905-735-9834 or by visiting the Welland Stadium Box Office.

"We're off the mat, now we go after the next one," added Essery.
