Clingersmith Duels Cappe as Jackfish Slip Past Red Sox

WELLAND - In a game that lasted less than two and a half hours, there were eleven hits and one run scored. Jackfish starter, Matt Clingersmith, pitched eight innings while allowing only four hits and striking out four. The starter for Brantford, Brady Cappe, pitched six scoreless innings while allowing five hits and four walks while striking out ten.

Casey Howard pitched an innings of relief for the jackfish. He only gave up one hit in the save. The Jackfish threatened multiple times in the game, but the lone run came on a Jackfish double steal as Wilson Soriano would score on an error by catcher Fernando Suarez.

The Jackfish went 1-2 on the week. The Jackfish are now 4-3 on the season. The fish will return home on Thursday, June 6th at Welland Stadium as they take on the Guelph Royals. First pitch set for 7:30 p.m.
