Dadson Named IBL Rookie of the Year
WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish announced today that first baseman Brendon Dadson has been named the 2019 Intercounty Baseball League Rookie of the Year.
Dadson made his IBL debut in the Rose City this season combining to hit .321 with 19 RBIs and 23 runs scored in 34 games played. The 22-year old has been excellent defensively playing at several positions during the 2019 campaign.
The 6'3", 220 lb. Bowmanville, Ontario native was also selected to the 2019 IBL Second Team All-Stars at first base. Joining him on the Second Team All-Star ballot are Euclides Leyer (RHP) and Wilson Soriano (SS).
The Welland Jackfish are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
