Euclides Luyer named IBL Pitcher of the Week

CAMBRIDGE – The Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) announced its Players of the Week for the week of May 13-19.

The top pitcher for the second week is Welland's Euclides Leyer, who went six innings to earn the win in the Jackfish's first-ever victory. Leyer gave up one run on two hits and three walks while striking out two in Welland's 9-1 win over London.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
