Fish Sign Carson "CJ" Johnson for 2026

WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish, Niagara's Greatest Show, is excited to announce the first new signing of the 2026 Season by welcoming inflieder, Carson Johnson!

The accomplished NCAA Division II hitter arrives at The Pond following a three-year career at the University of Texas Permian Basin where in 2025 he recorded a .381 average with 16 doubles, 4 triples, 5 home runs, 53 RBI in 50 games played.

Before joining UTPB, CJ suited up with current Jackfish Jonah Weisner at Ottawa University (Kansas) in 2022, where he played in 45 games, drawing the start in 42, hitting 13 doubles and 4 home runs with 15 multiple-hit games.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, CJ now calls Carl Junction, Missouri, home.
