IBL All-Star Catcher Robert Mullen Returns to The Pond
The Panamanian Devil Returns!
WELLAND - Niagara's Greatest Show, the Welland Jackfish, announced today that they have agreed to terms with catcher, Robert Mullen for the upcoming 2025 season.
Mullen, 28, returns to The Pond following an all-star season in 2024, recording a .335 average with 8 doubles, 7 home runs and 42 RBI. Mullen was also named to the 1st Team All-IBL squad at catcher following the 2024 regular season.
The Panama native joined the Jackfish following a season with the London Majors in 2022 recording a .405 average with 14 doubles, 15 home runs and 50 RBI.
The former Oakland Athletic farmhand spent all six minor league seasons in the Oakland A’s organization, putting up a .251 career batting average and a .338 on-base percentage. In 2019 he hit 11 home runs while playing for the AA Midland RockHounds. On defence, Mullen posted career numbers of .977 fielding percentage and also threw out 30% of all runners.
Mullen suited up for Team Panama during the 2024 WBSC Premier 12 Tournament in Mexico this past offseason.
