Jackfish Ace suits up for Dominican Professional Baseball League

Welland – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League today announced that right-handed starter Euclides Leyer has signed with the Estrellas Orientales of the Dominican Professional Baseball League.

The Estrellas Orientales have been a member of the Dominican Winter league since 1951 and have won the league championship in 1936, 1954, 1968 and 2019. The Dominican Professional Baseball League boasts some of the Dominicans top MLB talent. Each team plays a fifty-game round-robin schedule that begins at the middle of October and runs to the end of December.

This will be Leyers first season with the Orientales after coming off an impressive 2019 campaign with the Jackfish.
