Jackfish add three ahead of season kick off

Welland, Ontario – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL), today announced the signing of Eric Hegadoren, Michael Bonaccorso, and Eddie Chessell for the 2021 campaign.

Hegadoren, a towering 6’11 right-handed pitcher, hailing from Victoria, British Columbia, joins the Jackfish following starting the season with the Quebec Capitales of the Frontier League.

Michael Bonaccorso, a 5’10 right-handed pitcher, joins the Jackfish from Saint Peters University. The Etobicoke, Ontario native suited up for the Peacocks in 2021 following a season at Dodge City Community College

Chessell, a second-year Jackfish, returns to the club as one of the more veteran IBL players on the roster. Eddie will enter his fourth Intercounty season in 2021 and will fill a utility role for the fish this season.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
