Jackfish Announce Pond Water Lager

WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish in partnership with Newark Brewing Company are pleased to announce the launch of Pond Water Lager, the official beer of the Welland Jackfish.

The name Pond Water Lager was entered by Geoffrey Green of Grimsby who has won two Welland Jackfish Season Memberships, $50 in Jackfish merchandise and a gift card to Newark Brewing Company.

"We are so happy with how this name and can came out" said Jackfish President Ryan Harrison. "Not only is the can really cool, the beer is also amazing and will be a fan favourite at Welland Stadium."

Newark Brewing Company was established in late 2018, with their first batch being in March of 2019. Based out of Beamsville, Ontario, Newark is a virtual brewery with big plans to open its own space in the near future. Their focus when it comes to brewing is traditional European styles focusing on German and Belgian. You can currently find Newark’s Dunkel Lager at your local LCBO location.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
