Jackfish Announce Spencer Tanguay as New "Voice of The Fish"
WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish today announced that Spencer Tanguay will be the new Radio Broadcaster / "Voice of the Fish" for the 2019 baseball season. Spencer comes to the Jackfish with over a decade of sports broadcast experience.
A young local broadcaster, Spencer Tanguay's broadcasting journey began when he first picked up a microphone at the age of 10 when he announced his older brothers Tyler minor hockey games.
Fast forward 13 years and his career in the broadcasting industry is off and running. From calling play by play at the 2016 IIHF U18 Women's World Championship to announcing volleyball and basketball games at Niagara College, Spencer has found his passion and can't get enough of local sports.
"We are extremely excited and proud to have Spencer join our team!" said Welland Jackfish President and CEO Ryan Harrison. "We have no doubt baseball fans in the Niagara Region will enjoy the imagery that he brings to the airwaves."
Spencer's broadcast of the 2019 season can be heard on the Jackfish online radio via the "Listen Live" link at www.wellandjackfish.com.
