Jake Harford pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts. The starter’s ERA now sits at 1.23 on the campaign. “Jake was excellent. I seem to say that every time he’s on the mound, but it’s true,” explained Welland Manager Brian Essery. “He battles and is a bulldog. There was no way he wasn’t going to finish that one out.”

The Jackfish belted out eight hits led by leadoff man Gio Morello who finished the night 2-for-4 with one RBI. “We had a few timely hits from Morello, Sam Cawker and Ethan Hunt which was huge,” added Essery.

The same two teams meet tomorrow night in Barrie, as the Jackfish then host the Guelph Royals on Wayne’s World Night at The Pond this upcoming Thursday night, June 9. First pitch flies at 7:30. Get your tickets now.
