Jackfish blank Majors in rain-shortened game

LONDON – Rain ended Friday's game between London and Welland after five innings, and the Jackfish ended the Majors' five-game win streak with a 12-0 victory at Labatt Park.

Nolan Pettipiece went 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Welland (10-9). Wilson Soriano had two hits, two RBI and three runs, Brendon Dadson and DeAndre Asbury-Heath each drove in a pair, Vaughn Bryan had an RBI and scored, and Mattingly Romanin plated a pair of runs.

Rich Corrente (2-0) scattered five hits over five scoreless innings, walking two and striking out two.

Yuki Yasuda had two of London's five hits. Byron Reichstein added a double.

Owen Boon (3-2) took the loss, allowing six runs (five earned) on four hits in four innings. He walked one and struck out four.

London dropped to 11-11.
