The Welland Jackfish wrapped up the busiest week in franchise history with an impressive 1-0 victory over the visiting Guelph Royals on Daddy - Father's Day - at Welland Stadium.

Playing their fifth game in six days, three Jackfish pitchers combined to five hit the Royals.

Starter Jose Dominguez went seven strong innings, while James Bradwell and Deivy Mendez were perfect over the final two innings.

Greyson Barrett went 2-for-3 with the lone RBI for Welland who improved to an IBL best (12-2) on the season.

"We let one get away from us (Saturday) night so to bounce back and get this one was big," explained Jackfish Manager Brian Essery.

"Great pitching performance from Dominguez, and to be able to go to Bradwell and Mendez - the game played out perfectly for us..

It's been a great week and I'm really happy where we're at."

Welland is now off until Friday when they visit London Friday, before hosting Toronto Saturday on Youth Baseball and Women in Sports night at The Pond.
