Jackfish ground Cardinals

The Welland Jackfish continued to impress Wednesday night at home.

The Jackfish improved to (10-1) with a 15-4 hammering of the Hamilton Cardinals.

Welland collected 18 hits in the victory as Matteo Porcellato and Jake Sanford both had three base knocks, while Gio Morello and Greyson Barrett both had four RBI. Barrett's came via an eighth inning grand slam.

Jackfish Manager Brian Essery says it's all about confidence right now for his club.

"For sure, our lineup is really deep," Essery explained. "I'm not surprised by our start, the team is really talented and know how to win.

It's still early so we just have to continue to push forward and not get complacent."

James Bradwell picked up the win pitching five innings while not allowing an earned run, and striking out six Hamilton hitters.

The Jackfish continue their busy week visiting Kitchener Thursday night, and Barrie Saturday, before welcoming Guelph on Sunday for Father's Day presented by Backroad BBQ in Port Colborne.
