Jackfish Highlight Community Contributions in 2025

Welland, ON – The Welland Jackfish are proud to announce that, thanks to the incredible support of our fans and community, the Jackfish helped raise or donated $98,768 this past season. The highlight of the 2025 season included raising $69,888 for CrimerStoppers of Niagara through home game 50/50 raffles. Every ticket purchased helped make a difference, fueling the impact of the Jackfish as they to continue to support local initiatives and give back to the community that makes the Niagara Region so special.
The Jackfish also drew over 70,000 fans to Welland Stadium during the 2025 season, generating a significant economic boost for the Niagara Region, contributing over $2 million in economic impact.
“Over the past six baseball seasons, the Jackfish have raised or donated over $390,000 to various organizations throughout the Niagara Region,” shares Jackfish President, Ryan Harrison. “This achievement demonstrates the incredible potential that arises when sports and community come together with a shared purpose. Through the Jackfish, we are not only supporting programs; we are investing in people. The energy, generosity, and spirit of the Rose City and the Niagara Region continue to inspire our efforts, and we look forward to building an even brighter and more prosperous future for the youth in our community.”
The Fish had a record year giving back to the community, raising over $90,000 to local charities, including:
- $69,888 raised for Crimestoppers of Niagara through the 2025 season 50/50 draws
- $4,030 raised for Ronald McDonald House Charity through the Strikeout for Families Campaign
- $1,916.17 raised for the Niagara Children's Centre through the Niagara Lawn Cocks Jersey Auction
- $3,050 donated to youth baseball organizations
- $7,074 raised for Youth Baseball teams through our The Challenge campaign
- $250 raised in support of Hospice Niagara
- 795 Tickets Donated to Local Charities and Non-For-Profits
The Jackfish are excited to continue supporting the local economy in the coming years.
The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s best league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The over 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
