It was another milestone night for the Welland Jackfish.

First, they recorded their eighth sellout of the season and in so doing surpassed 50,000 fans on the campaign.

Then they went out and clobbered the Kitchener Panthers 17-1.

Five Jackfish pitchers combined to record 13 strikeouts, while Matteo Porcellato went 3-for-5 with five RBI and three stolen bases.

"That's our game plan going into the playoffs, put pressure on the defence and the runs will pile up," explained Welland Manager Brian Essery. "Great pitching tonight from a number of guys and the offense exploded.

Thirty wins in four straight seasons is an amazing accomplishment."

The Jackfish welcome the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers in their final regular season home game Saturday night, before visiting Kitchener Sunday afternoon to close out the 2025 campaign.

The playoffs begin next Thursday night at home against a yet to be determined opponent.
