Jackfish pull away late to topple Red Sox

Brantford, Ontario - The Welland Jackfish scored twice in the sixth inning to pull ahead and added three runs in the ninth to knock off Brantford 7-2 Friday night at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Aaron Dunsmore had three RBI for the Jackfish (1-0), while Brandon Underhill drove in a pair. Zarley Cina went 3-for-6 with a run, Dane Tofteland had a pair of hits and a run, Michael Blanke added an RBI, and Robert Mackie singled, doubled and had an RBI and a run. 

Winning pitcher Chris Boatto (1-0) struck out eight of the 12 batters he faced in four no-hit innings of relief. Starter Rich Corrente went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. 

Nick Davies (0-1) took the loss, giving up two unearned runs on a hit in two innings of relief. He walked two and struck out two. Red Sox starter Kyle Lev gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits over five innings. He walked three and struck out 10. 

Matthew Pillarczyk drove in both Red Sox runs. Colton Fountain had a hit and scored twice.
