Jackfish Re-Sign IBL All-Star Big Ben Abram
Sound the gong, the big man is back!
WELLAND - Niagara's Greatest Show, the Welland Jackfish, announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher, Ben Abram for the upcoming 2025 season.
Abram, 24, returns to The Pond for his third season with the Fish following back-to-back stand out seasons. In 2024 Ben recorded a 2.41 ERA with a 10-2 record, 84 strikeouts and 19 walks. Named to the All-IBL Second Team All-Stars, Ben led the IBL in wins.
Abram joined the Jackfish following five years in Oklahoma, split between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. In five seasons in the Big 12 Conference, Abram recorded a career 5.69 ERA with a 17-8 record while striking out 189 and walking 60.
Before heading to the Big 12, Ben was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 37th round of the 2018 MLB June Amateur Draft from Georgetown District High School.
