WELLAND - Building off a memorable 2021 season at Welland Stadium, Jackfish fans are sure to “Get Hooked" with a full slate of exciting promotions during the 2022 season. Today the team provided a glimpse of the upcoming year headlined by fireworks shows, giveaways, theme nights, and plenty of on and off-the-field entertainment.
The Jackish will officially take the field and welcome Baseball back to the Niagara Region on Thursday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m. against the Brantford Red Sox. Fans entering the ballpark on Opening Night will be greeted with a Jackfish "Fun Tour" t-shirt giveaway presented by GIANT FM. The fun of Opening Weekend continues with a Magnet Schedule Giveaway on Saturday, May 21. In total, the Jackfish will treat fans to 4 fireworks shows this season.
The 2022 schedule also includes a wide variety of giveaways for fans. New for the upcoming season are specialty giveaways that include wine cups (June 11), summer kick off t-shirts (June 30), Team posters (July 21), and Beer Koozies (August 4).
Specialty game themes will also be in focus throughout the course of the season. Kicking off 2022 the Jackfish will return to the field as we will pay tribute to the hardest rocking movie of all time, as Wayne's World Night comes to The Pond (June 9). Ladies Night will make its triumphant return to The Pond with a pre-game event for the ladies and wine cup giveaway (June 11). The Jackfish will suit up once again as the Welland Roses with a Roses jersey auction in support of the Welland Rose Festival (June 16). New for 2022 is the Newark Brew Bash (August 4) as we celebrate summer with $2 drafts and Beer Koozie Giveaway. Price is Right Night caps off our theme schedule (August 18) as the Jackfish giveaway amazing prizes every half inning.
Fan favourite themes return in 2022 including our Father's Day Game (June 19), Bark in the Park (July 2), Country Night (July 7), and Tropical Night (July 30).
The schedule also includes the return of popular Thirsty Thursdays and live music Saturdays.
