Jackfish Sign Catcher Young for 2025
UBC Catcher Joins the Fish!
WELLAND - Niagara's Greatest Show, the Welland Jackfish, announced today that they have agreed to terms with catcher, Russell Young for the upcoming 2025 season.
Young, 22, will join the Fish for his rookie season following the 2025 season with the University of British Columbia. Currently in his third season with the Thunderbirds, Russell recorded a .317 average in 2024 with 13 doubles, 4 home runs and 27 RBI.
The former Canadian Junior National Team member suited up for the Edmonton Riverhawks of the West Coast League in 2024 where he recorded a .255 average with 5 doubles and 20 RBI in 34 games.
