Jackfish sign Former Colorado Rockies prospect Luis Jean

Welland – The Welland Jackfish today announced the signing of former Colorado Rockies prospect, Luis Jean for the 2023 season.

Jean, a 6-foot-1, native of Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, joins the Fish following his first IBL season in 2022 with the Hamilton Cardinals. In 29 games played, Luis would amass a .336 average with 2 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, and 9 RBI.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Luis join the Fish,” said Jackfish General Manager, Jason McKay. “He brings years of high-level professional experience and next-level defense along with a very dangerous bat at the top end of our lineup.”

Before coming on the scene in the Intercounty League, Luis six years in the Rockies organization, reaching as high as double-A with the Hartford Yard Goats.
