Jackfish Sign Infielder Pettipiece

WELLAND – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announced the signing of infielder Nolan Pettipiece for the 2019 season.

Nolan, a six year IBL veteran, joins the Jackfish after spending last season with the Burlington Herd. In thirty-four games played, Nolan recorded a .242 average with six doubles, one home run and twelve RBI.

“A versatile veteran of the IBL, Pettipiece gives the coaching staff solid defensive play at any position, a disciplined hitter who lead the team in the 2018 playoffs and along with great base running” said Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay. “As solid a ball player and person as they come Nolan is a welcomed player to the Jackfish.”

In Nolan's three seasons with the club, he has recorded a .278 average with thirteen doubles, three home runs and thirty-seven RBI.

Prior to joining the Herd, Pettipiece suited up for the Kitchener Panthers during the 2014 season and the University of Waterloo, recoring a .311 batting average with 16 doubles and 31 RBIs.
