Jackfish Sign Outfielder Ian Horne
WELLAND – The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) today announce the signing of outfielder Ian Horne for the 2019 season.
Horne, 27, a four-year professional, spent the 2018 season split between the Pecos League and Canadian-American Association. Over fifty-three games played, Horne recorded a .303 average with ten doubles, a home run and twenty-one RBI.
“Ian has been an exceptional hitter in all professional leagues he has played” said Jackfish General Manager Jason McKay. “Ian brings versatility as he is as equally comfortable playing corner outfield as he is infield, we are lucky to add another exciting player for the Welland fans!”
The Vancouver, BC native suited up for Norfolk State University where he spent two seasons from 2014-2015 before turning pro.
“I am looking forward to being part of the Welland community and going out every week and competing for our fans” said Ian Horne. “I am excited to be part of brining competitive baseball back to Welland for 2019.”
