Jackfish suffer game three loss

BARRIE – Ryan Spataro went 4-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Barrie Baycats to a 13-4 win over the Welland Jackfish in Game 3 of their semifinal Tuesday night at Coates Stadium.

Barrie leads the best-of-seven series 3-0 and can advance to the final with a win Thursday.

Spataro also scored three times as the Baycats won their seventh straight game of the playoffs. Kyle DeGrace hit a solo home run, Starlin Rodriguez and Jon Waltenbury each had two hits and two RBI, Jordan Castaldo and Glenn Jackson both drove in a run, Kevin Atkinson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run, Conner Morro scored twice, and Branfy Infante had a pair of singles, two RBI and three runs.

Emilis Guerrero (3-0) went six innings, striking out six while allowing four runs on six hits and a walk.

Brendon Dadson had two hits, two RBI and a run for the Jackfish. Brandon Nicholson drove in a run and scored, Bryce O'Farrell had an RBI, and Wilson Soriano and Tyler Wood each went 2-for-4 with a run.

Matthew Clingersmith (1-1) took the loss, surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
