Jackfish team up with Open Arms Mission for Home Run for the Hungry Food Drive

WELLAND - The Welland Jackfish in partnership with Open Arms Mission Welland have announced that they'll be holding a Food Drive-Thru later this month.

On Saturday, November 28th the Jackfish will host “Home Run for the Hungry” a food drive in support of the Open Arms Mission in Welland. The Food Drive will operate in the Welland Stadium Parking lot location at 90 Quaker Road from 11 am – 1pm.

“This year the Jackfish felt it was especially important to give back to the Niagara community,” said Jackfish President Ryan Harrison. “It has been a rough time for everyone in the region and we would like to give people something back after the support we have received.”

For each donation made the Jackfish will donate a set of 2021 Jackfish tickets to participants. The Food Drive will be a contactless event with all staff wearing masks and gloves to maintain COVID-19 guidelines.

The Welland Jackfish are a member of Canada’s top baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
