Mawhood Named as Jackfish PA Announcer
WELLAND --- The Welland Jackfish, members of the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL), are pleased to announce that Rod Mawhood will be the Public Address announcer this summer at Welland Stadium.
Mawhood is no stranger when it comes to working behind the microphone. During the fall and winter months, the St. Catharines native can be heard at the Meridian Centre as the P.A. voice of the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League. Rod can also be heard on his weekly show, the Niagara Sports Report on 610 CKTB.
"We're thrilled to have a guy like Rod working the P.A. this summer at the park," Jackfish President Ryan Harrison said. "Rod is a true professional and I know from experience that he will get our fans into each and every game."
The Welland Jackfish take to the field at Welland Stadium in May 2019. Season Memberships are now on sale for as low as $5 per ticket. To purchase visit www.wellandjackfish.com.
The Welland Jackfish are a member of Ontario's most elite baseball league, the Intercounty Baseball League. The 100-year old summer league is one of the oldest baseball leagues in the world, with the league established in 1919, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
