Welland Jackfish Sign Infielder Bryce Arnold for 2026 Season

WELLAND, ON — The Welland Jackfish are proud to announce the signing of Canadian infielder Bryce Arnold for the 2026 season.

Arnold, a Hamilton, Ontario native, brings a résumé that screams “professional hitter” and whispers “please don’t throw him a fastball.” The right-handed infielder most recently spent time in Minor League Baseball, including stops with organizations like the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland Guardians.

Before turning pro, Arnold absolutely torched college pitching at Campbell University, where he slashed .321/.412/.638 with 17 home runs and 65 RBIs in a monster 2023 season.

Standing at 5’10” and 175 lbs, Arnold has played just about everywhere on the diamond—second base, shortstop and the outfield.

Arnold adds another dangerous bat to an already stacked Jackfish lineup heading into 2026.

Fans can expect:

  • Gap-to-gap power (and occasionally parking-lot-to-parking-lot power)
  • Defensive versatility
  • A strong Canadian content quota boost 🇨🇦
  • And at least one moment per game where the opposing team says, “yeah… we should’ve walked him.”

The Jackfish open the 2026 season soon, and if Arnold’s track record is any indication, baseballs at Welland Stadium should start filing for workers’ compensation.

The Jackfish return to The Pond on Saturday, May 16th, as they take on the Guelph Royals. Full Season, Flex and Group Packages are all available now! To learn more or to purchase, visit www.wellandjackfish.com or call 905-735-9834.
