Overview

The Jackfish seek an experienced Food and Beverage Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and display strong leadership skills. The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the food and beverage area and will work closely with the executive team to meet company goals and objectives.

An Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with the operations for all Food and Beverage areas including The Tackle Box, the Fish Bowl, and Newark Patio.
  • Assists with scheduling and keeping staffing levels reflective of business needs
  • Provides a training path for new staff, and ensures new staff are properly trained on service standards, computer systems, and menu offerings, before serving any customers
  • Communicate with other departments regarding event changes, customer concerns and emergency situations
  • Works alongside staff on all preparatory work prior to opening and closing of eating areas
  • Manages a high level of cleanliness standards and ensures staff are following same procedures
  • Delegates duties to all staff to serve customers in all food service areas
  • Acts as a liaison between members, service staff, and kitchen as needed
  • Ensures staff are providing customers and guests exceptional member service by providing one-on-one coaching when needed
  • Provides support by filling in when a server is not available and provides service to tables
  • Reports any workplace incidents, hazards, and dangers

Highlight of Job Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant supervisory experience required in sport, hotel, full-service restaurant or other hospitality-related industry.
  • Smart Serve Certification (required)
  • Valid G License and transportation (required)
  • Food Handler Certification (nice to have, but not required)
  • A proven track record in the provision of customer service and the ability to meet performance standards during very busy peak periods while maintaining professionalism during stressful situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding customer service
  • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends
